It's always a sad day when we say goodbye to beloved members of the fight community. Storied trainer, manager and promoter Lou Duva recently passed away, and though it still stings, we prefer to remember what Duva contributed to boxing. Join us in reliving some classic Duva moments.
In addition, this week's episide of Knuckles and Gloves Boxing Radio delves into puncher vs. puncher matchups in boxing history. David Lemieux and Curtis Stevens, both punchers, will meet on HBO this weekend. It just makes sense.
As always, Compubox operator Aris Pina and writer/historian Patrick Connor are the ones guiding you through these nerdy discussions.

With two straight weekends of middleweight fights coming up, Knuckles and Gloves Boxing Radio recalls when one of boxing's most historied divisions seemed to be cursed. It's not that we would wish anything bad on David Lemieux or Curtis Stevens -- or Gennady Golovkin and Daniel Jacobs, for that matter. But many great fighters, and even some who were simply notable, met early ends as middleweights.
The tales of Harry Greb and Stanley Ketchel are fairly well-known in boxing circles, but what about the tales of Marcel Cerdan, Charles "Kid" McCoy, Tiger Flowers and more?
This week, KGB Radio has Compubox operator Aris Pina and writer/historian Patrick Connor to walk you through it all.

As much as we say we hate them, it's difficult to turn away from a spectacle. In a boxing ring they're even more addicting. Certain fighters know how to bring the train wreck right into the ring, and one way of doing it is to set aside inhibitions and allow baser instinct to take over. In other words, certain fighters forget the rules and aim on causing pain however they can.
From George "Elbows" McFadden on to Sandy Saddler, and then from Fritzie Zivic back on to Harry Greb, this week on Knuckles and Gloves Boxing Radio we discuss some of the dirtiest fighters ever to set foot in a boxing ring.

The heavyweight division is an easy one to map and discuss, both historically and in its current state. We've already talked about the biggest punchers ever at heavyweight and troubled heavyweights, but in this week's episode the topic is "Worst Heavyweight Title Challengers Ever."
Some funny decisions have been made when it comes to granting random characters a shot at the shiniest crown in all of sports, both recently and in decades past. And Compubox operator Aris Pina and Patrick Connor of Knuckles and Gloves, The Fight City and more run down their list.

Many have asked, and finally the best boxing history podcast is back!
This week on Knuckles and Gloves Boxing Radio, Compubox Operator Aris Pina and writer/historian Patrick Connor once again team up to discuss boxing history and tell stories, both old and new.
Last weekend we saw a fun rematch between Leo Santa Cruz and Carl Frampton on Showtime, and those two appear headed for a third fight. Would another entertaining affair place the Santa Cruz-Frampton trilogy among Tony Zale vs Rocky Graziano, Marco Antonio Barrera vs Erik Morales, Riddick Bowe vs Evander Holyfield and more? What are your favorite trilogies and rubbermatches?

If there were one weekend in January that fight fans don't want to miss out on, this one would be it.
On Showtime, Carl Frampton and Leo Santa Cruz meet to run back one of the best fights of 2016. It was exceedingly fun the first time and their respective styles suggest it would be anytime they get together. Even the support bout has potential, with Dejan Zlaticanin facing a Mikey Garcia who continues his comeback after two years off.
Then on HBO, all-action Mexico native Francisco Vargas takes on Miguel Berchelt. Vargas has to be one of the most exciting fighters in boxing right now. Another thrilling fighter, Takashi Miura, faces off against Mickey Roman in the co-feature.
It's a full weekend of fights, and another week of KGB Radio means Brin-Jonathan Butler and Patrick Connor run it all down for you.

We're one bigger fight into 2017 and we got what we all wanted: a competitive fight between two upper echelon fighters in Badou Jack and James DeGale. The resulting draw wasn't an ideal conclusion, but the fight itself was entertaining and difficult to score.
Gervonta Davis and Jose Pedraza put on a nice show in the co-feature as well, rounding out a Showtime broadcast that showed promise on paper. Thankfully it also delivered, with Davis and Pedraza going to war in spots, providing some back-and-forth thrills.
This week on Knuckles and Gloves Boxing Radio, Brin-Jonathan Butler and Patrick Connor guide you through it all.

It took a few weeks for 2017 to really get rolling and we've been relying on news of upcoming fights and promotions to get us through. But now the first serious fight card of the year is upon us, and our appeal to the boxing deities for a worthwhile fight has been answered.
This week on Showtime, Badou Jack and James DeGale square off in what boxing fans hope will be one of many more Premier Boxing Champions cards in 2017 where one of the names in their stable is matched with another. It hasn't happened enough yet, but this is a fight that should be a significant step toward ironing out details at super middleweight.
Once more, author and filmmaker Brin-Jonathan Butler and writer/historian Patrick Connor join forces to preview this fight and go back and forth about various boxing topics.

It's finally 2017, which means we can leave that pesky 2016 in the dust and concentrate on the future. We're not sure how bright the future is at this point, but it's early in the year and there's plenty of time for good things to unfold.
This week on Knuckles and Gloves Boxing Radio, author and filmmaker Brin-Jonathan Butler joins writer and historian Patrick Connor in hoping for all the best in the coming year.
